He was the protagonist of numerous pioneering and record-breaking flights. For example, in 1920, an F.13a made the first transalpine flight by a passenger aircraft, and in 1921 it was the first commercial aircraft to land in the United States, an event that underlined its international reach and the boldness of its design.
