In the aeronautical landscape of the new millennium, Embraer found itself at a strategic crossroads. The Brazilian company, already the undisputed leader in 30-50 seat regional jets with the ERJ series, aimed to redefine the segment, bridging a clear gap between small regional jets and larger airliners.

This ambitious vision gave birth to the E-Jets program, a family of aircraft designed to offer greater capacity, comfort and operational flexibility. The progenitor of this revolution, the Embraer E170, made its first flight on 19 February 2002, marking the beginning of a new era for regional air transport.

Its main operators include companies such as Republic Airways in the United States, Alitalia Express in Europe and many others, who have appreciated its operational economy and the high comfort perceived by passengers. Its flexibility has allowed it to replace older and less efficient aircraft, helping to modernize fleets.
